The Steam Tank- Why I need it in my list!

People say when choosing which faction you want to collect in a miniature wargame such as 40k or A.O.S, the best advice is to go with the one you love the models for most. After all, you will be spending countless hours building/ painting them and pushing them around the table. It’s also said that rules are temporary but models are eternal! (Or until you sell them on ebay.) This is generally my approach to choosing which factions I want to collect and it’s also why you will likely never see me at a serious gaming tournament. (Well, a combination of suboptimal list choices and crippling anxiety.)

Using the Green Stuff World Textured rolling pins- Miniature Basing

When approaching the basing stage of any project there are a number of options available to create a finished base and give your miniatures a sense of presence. You could simply buy resin cast bases from a 3rd party supplier. If you want a cheaper alternative then you could simply glue flock and static grass to the base or even a fine grit sand/ salt (to be covered in PVA glue and later painted). The Citadel texture paints (and similar products) are another option which provide a fast basing solution and give a good range of finishes which can be painted over for further customisation. If you want a mountainous finish, sheets of cork boarding can be broken up and used. (Though I’ve yet to try this option myself.) Needless to say, there are a ton of options to bring the base of your miniatures to life.

Vampire lord on Zombie Dragon

“Many Vampire lords see undead dragons as the only mounts worthy to bear them into battle. Sitting astride these cadaverous monsters, they soar into the fray, hacking and slicing with wicked blades or splitting helpless victims upon their great lances. Those not slain by the Vampire rider are crushed and torn apart by its steed, or withered to nothing by the creature’s pestilential breath.”

Legions of Nagash & Cities of Sigmar 500 point army updates

Another busy week here progressing the two 500 point Age of Sigmar forces. It feels like I have finally broken the back of the project which is great because it was a little daunting at the start. I now have two 500 point forces for Age of Sigmar, table top ready for when my local gaming store opens and I have to say I am overjoyed. So what have I done since my last update?

Cities of Sigmar- 500 point list update

It’s been quite a busy week here but between work and progressing the Legions of Nagash army, I’ve managed to find a bit of time to work on my 500 point Cities of Sigmar force. The goal will be to have my list fully painted and ready to play against the Legions of Nagash 500 point force once this current lock down ends. So lets start with the list and then take a look at the current state of the minis.

Legions of Nagash- Halloween Update

As it’s Halloween today, it seems fitting to post an update on the Legions of Nagash ebay rescue project. I’ve made a bit of hobby progress since my previous update and though it’s a grim, rainy day here, I’ve taken some photos of the units I’ve been working on. Please note everything shown in this post is unfinished, though after getting base colours down and some washes, we can see the aesthetic direction the force is moving towards.
