Army on Parade- Adeptus Custodes

I’ve been meaning to write this post for a while and show my Adeptus Custodes collection. These are some fantastic miniatures and where an absolute joy to paint, though I did find them quite challenging at times. Originally they where going to be Solar Watch, but the white armour just proved too challenging at the time for me to paint. The army ended up in storage for a good 6 months until I got them out again and decided it was time to have another attempt.

Building an Ironclad- Part 2

A little more progression today with the Ironclad for my Kharadron Overlords army. When it comes to Warhammer, I’m used to blitzing the construction phase to get to painting as quickly as possible. With a model as complex and large as the Ironclad however, slow and steady is proving to be the best philosophy. Here is my progress from where we left off in part 1.

Building an Ironclad- Part 1

There are some miniatures which are so awesome, they are the reason a hobbyist will start collecting an army. For myself, the Ironclad was the miniature which drew me to the Kharadron Overlords. A huge airship brimming with firepower, this centre piece model really makes a statement. Imposing, detailed and quirky, I love the Ironclad and so it was only a matter of time and saving before I got myself one. The model has been sat for a few weeks in my pile of shame but with A.O.S 3rd edition on the horizon, I felt now was a good time to get started. In this Blog series I aim to document my progress as I build and paint this airship. Lets get started!

Speed of the Raven- 25PL Dark Angels List Development & Gameplay

A few weeks ago, I played my first game of Warhammer 40k at 25PL and came away with a few observations. I was essentially running the combat patrol box and though I was able to make a mess of the enemy warlord in a single turn via the Redemptor’s Micro Plasma incinerator, I just didn’t have enough board presence. Due to this, my opponent was able to simply stay out of line of sight and capture the objectives, obtaining a comfortable win on points. I went back to the drawing board and came away with a revised list which I got to play on Thursday. Here is how it went…

Kharadron Overlords Army- Hobby Progress update

I’ve been chipping away at the Kharadron Overlords for the last month and wanted to get a quick post up showing the full collection as it currently sits in its W.I.P state. There is still a fair bit of detailing work to do and pretty much everything requires basing, however things are starting to come together quite nicely. (And just in time for A.O.S 3rd edition!)

The Crimson Court- A Soulblight Gravelords Warhammer Underworlds Warband

I finally worked up the courage to take on The Crimson Court and I have to say, these miniatures where a joy to paint. I’ve noticed these Warhammer Underworlds Warbands, (or at least the ones I’ve worked on myself,) just drip with personality. If you are into A.O.S then I’d highly recommend you check if there is a warband for your army and get yourself some cool characters.

Index Hereticus: The Fallen- A Review

When I heard there where updated rules for The Fallen in this issue of White Dwarf, I was very excited. Being a Dark Angels fanboy, the possibility of having a solid ruleset to represent the arch enemy of my chapter and possibly even see some new lore was too good to pass up. Coupled with the phenomenal artwork of Cypher on the cover, (by Diana Martinez,) this issue promised to be something very special indeed.

Getting ready for my first game of 40k 9th Edition (With post game summary and my thoughts.)

My local gaming shop is re-opening it’s doors to players which means I will finally be able to play a game of 40k 9th edition. This is quite strange for me as though I’ve been involved with Warhammer for years, I’ve never been that involved in the gaming side of things. Since deciding to get back into 40k last year and getting my Dark Angels army, I’ve been fully intending to play and now the opportunity is finally here, I’m a bit nervous.

Warhammer Fest 2021- My thoughts on what we saw

Anyone with a social media account in the hobby will no doubt have seen the bombardment of news and previews this week for all things Games Workshop. Usually an in person event, this year Warhammer Fest was online and this meant I got to see the reveals myself first hand. As we are now a day after the final preview, I thought it would be a good time to briefly talk about what we saw and share my thoughts for what is coming.

Warhammer Hobby Update- April 2021

It feels like forever since I last found a spare moment to post on here as life has been rather more hectic than usual. The steady decline of Covid lockdown measures has meant work has become more demanding. What’s more, the gyms are now reopen and even my H.E.M.A club has found an outdoor space where we can start practicing again. Between these and family commitments, I’ve had little time or energy for writing blog posts. That said, I have been doing a bit of hobby and while I have 30 mins free time this morning, thought I’d get a quick post up showing what I’ve been working on.
